It was my first wedding in Switzerland

Sandra and Thomas contacted me via their very good friend Tina who’s wedding I shot two years ago in Split (check out in portfolio) and asked me If I can photograph their wedding in Switzerland.

It took me about 2 milliseconds to think about it, so In June 2018 Šime and I went on a road trip all the way to Zurich. After a good solid 11 hours of drive thorough Italy via Milano, and visiting magical Como lake again (jump to portfolio to see Lago di Como wedding), and after taking couple of breathtaking drone shots of some lake in Switzerland, we finally arrived at my cousin’s house in Wettingen where we stayed for a few days.

Next day, after few coffees just to get the engines started again, we met Sandra and Thomas in Zurich and went downtown for an engagement photo shoot. The weather was moody as you can see if you check out the post I made earlier, but the photo shoot went great and Sandra and Thomas felt much more relaxed after seeing great results on the back of my camera.

Next day it was the wedding day.  We drove to their hometown of Schaffhausen which is near Switzerland/Germany boarder with beautiful river Rain passing though. The town and little details were breathtaking and my camera fell in love with Sandra and Thomas instantly 🙂

They saw each other in the church for the first time all dressed up and she took his breath away! After the ceremony and a short break, all the guests drove by boats on river Rain and finally arrived at the GastHaus Schupfen near  Diessenhofen. Gasthaus Schupfen is magical and a superb place to have your wedding venue.

At midnight we made a slideshow presentation on the big screen showing their love story how they grew up, started dating and finally from the wedding day which took all the guest by the surprise!

Switzerland was one of the best weddings we’ve been on, but took much much more energy than we imagined. Was is worth it? Check out photos down below.

Much love!

Frano
